Perdaman sign water allocation agreement

Perdaman has signed a water allocation agreement with Harvey Water for the supply of water from the Wellington Dam.

The Water will be transported from the Wellington Dam to Collie via a 27km under-utilised pipeline.

The Project will build a seven kilometers pipeline extension to transport the water from Collie to the Project site.

Perdaman and GS sign EPC contract

Seoul based firm GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) has been awarded the turn key EPC contract for the Collie Urea Project.

GS E&C will be responsible for the design, procurement and construction of the plant which consists of the gasification island, central to the conversion of coal to hydrogen rich gas, the product island, which converts gas to urea, and the various utilities.

Established in 1969, GS E&C, formerly LG Engineering & Construction, is one of the top three general engineering and construction companies in Korea. GS E&C is recognized as one of the major global EPC players in the refinery and petrochemical plants and boasts a diversified business portfolio comprising of housing, plants (including petrochemical), architecture, civil engineering and power plants/environmental facilities.

GS E&C is now the sole construction affiliate of the GS group, the 5th largest private industrial business conglomerate in Korea with KRW43 trillion ($US43 billion) in assets and KRW44 trillion in consolidated sales in 2009. Rated BBB by S&P and Baa3 by Moodys , GS E&C contributes to 17% of the group sales.

GS will be working with Oil & Gas major Shell, who will be providing the plant’s core gasification and gas treatment technology, with Danish company Haldor Topsoe providing the ammonia synthesis technology, and Netherlands company Stamicarbon BV providing its Urea 2000 plusTM melt technology and fluid bed granulation technology.

Perdaman South West Cricket Academy holds 2nd Cricket Clinic

Perdaman South West Cricket Academy held its 2nd Cricket Clinic in Collie on Thursday 11th November.

103 Year 5 students from 4 local primary schools, St Brigids Primary School, Amaroo Primary School, Wilson Park Primary School and Allanson Primary School spent the day at Roche Park practicing their ball skills and having fun playing cricket with local talent Ryan Duffield and fellow Warrior team mates Michael Hogan, Mitchell Marsh, Matt Johnston, Luke Pomersbach and Michael Swart.

Led by WACA’s South West Regional Cricket Officer and High Performance Coach Andy Cottam, the Cricket Clinic is designed to offer local students a chance to interact with each other in a fun learning environment, encouraged by skilled professionals.

After enjoying a sausage sizzle and refreshments catered for by the Collie Cricket Club, 8 lucky students had the chance to battle it out against the warriors in a friendly game of super 8’s.

Former Australian Cricketer and now Corporate Advisor for Perdaman Industries, Mr Tom Moody led the coin toss and provided encouragement for the young players.

We would like to thank the members of the Collie Cricket Club for their contribution in making the 2nd Cricket Clinic held by the Perdaman South West Cricket Academy a successful day for all.

Perdaman receives state environmental approval

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers is pleased to announce that it has received environmental approval for its project from the WA Minister for the Environment and Youth, Honourable Donna Faragher, in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.

This is a key regulatory approval and a significant step forward for the Perdaman Collie Urea project, coming within weeks of receiving environmental approval from the Federal Government.

Perdaman & Incitec sign Offtake Agreement

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers has signed an offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot Limited for the entire output of granular urea fertilizer from its proposed Collie Urea Plant. The agreement covers the purchase of two million tonnes per annum for a period of 20 years.

Chairman and Managing Director of Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mr Vikas Rambal, said the signing of the offtake agreement represented a major step forward in the development of the plant. “The Collie Urea Plant has the potential to make Australia a major player in the global urea market. The agreement means that the nation can become a major exporter of urea. This will benefit Australia’s balance of trade figures. There will also be opportunities for sales of urea within Western Australia.”

Federal Environmental Approval

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers is pleased to announce that it has received Federal environmental approval for its project from the Federal Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.

Chairman and Managing Director of Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers Pty Ltd, Mr Vikas Rambal, said that receiving Federal environmental approval marked an important milestone for the future of the Project.

“This is positive news for the Perdaman Collie Urea project and one of many announcements expected over the course of the coming weeks. The Federal approval highlights the support that both the State and Federal Government is willing to provide to the project and the optimism surrounding such an important development in the South West.”
