PERDAMAN INDUSTRIES (CHEMICALS & FERTILISERS)

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers is a Western Australian-based company with a current focus on the production of urea, the most commonly traded nitrogenous fertiliser. Urea is non-toxic, has high nitrogen content and can be easily transported and stored.

Perdaman is building a urea plant, “Project Ceres”, which will be the largest urea plant in Australia and one of the largest in the world, seeing a total investment of USD$4.5 billion.

The plant is located in Karratha, Western Australia, and with a planned capacity of 2.3 million metric tons per annum. The project will utilise feedstock from Woodside under a 20-year agreement and has a 20-year offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot.

With an ever-growing global population, and therefore an ever-increasing demand for agricultural food products, there is a natural flow-on effect for the requirement of fertiliser within the agricultural supply chain. In addition to helping improve agricultural output and the worldwide shortage of fertiliser, we will add value to Australia’s resources. Urea is safe and clean as well as being easily transported.

We expect to create approximately 2,000 jobs including 200 permanent at the plant, which will further stimulate the local economy.
