Perdaman recieves Major Project Facilitation status

The Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Development has granted Perdaman Chemicals & Fertilisers Major Project Facilitation (MPF) status.

MPF is administered with the purpose of facilitating and supporting private sector investment proposals throughout the approvals process and ensures that the Australian Government responds promptly to issues raised.

In addition, Perdaman has developed an Australian Industry Participation Plan to ensure that Australian industry is provided with full, fair and reasonable opportunity to participate in the Project. One of the main aspects of the AIPP is the use of Project Connect (www.projectconnect.com.au) to communicate supply opportunities and facilitate expressions of interest.

Restaurateur dishes up full house and drinks at Alluvion

Owners of the $220 million Alluvion building have announced three new tenants, including fertiliser company Perdaman Industries and a well-known Perth restaurateur, taking the building to 100% capacity.

The full house announcement comes just two months before the building is expected to be completed. “We are very happy to get to that 100% mark,” said Charter Hall’s leasing director Emil Joubert “It is clearly a vindication in the product..”

Alluvion, on Mounts Bay Road, has 22,400sqm of net lettable space and comes with a 4.5 NABERS energy rating.

Western Australia leading Carbon Capture charge

Western Australia is playing a leading role in the battle against climate change with major carbon capture and storage demonstration projects currently planned or proposed in the State.
One of these, the proposed Collie Hub in the South West, would be a multi-user CCS project featuring five companies including Perdaman Chemicals & Fertilisers.

Carbon Strategy Coordinator, Dominique Van Gent, said it was vital for Australia as a whole to find ways to prevent carbon emissions, “Australia is the world’s largest coal exporter and the fourth largest coal producer, which makes the development of carbon capture and storage vital to protecting the employment and wealth created by this sector.”

The West Australian – Plan to bury carbon waste in SW a step closer

The federal Government has short-listed the Collie South West Hub concept along with three others in the race to create the nation’s first industrial-scale carbon capture and storage projects. The proposal aims to store underground up to 3.3 million tonnes of CO2 from coal-fired power stations and heavy industry somwhere on the coastal plain between Bunbury and Mandurah.

The project involves the Department of Mines & Petroleum and Perdaman Chemicals & Fertilisers, Griffin Energy, Verve Energy, BHP Billiton Worsley Alumina and Wesfarmers Premier Coal.

Prime MInister Kevin Rudd has placed great store on developing CCS in Australian as part of the international effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions and has budgeted $2 billion to help develop the flagship projects as part of the goal of the G8 powers to have at least 20 big developments up and running around the world by 2020.

Collie Mail – Industrial park a step closer

Mick Murray revealed that the Government has briefed key stakeholders about the proposed Shotts Industrial Park in a bid to push through legislated challenges before the end of this year.

“I have been advocating for the release of new industrial land near Collie since I was first elected,” Mr Murray said. “It has been a long, slow process but the opening will provide well deserved business and employment opportunities in the region.”

Collie Mail – Industry park closer to reality

Development of the Shott’s Inductrial Park is a step closer with the Collie Shire Coucnil agreeing to consider Landcorp’s request to advertise an amendment to Local Planning Scheme 5.

The Shott’s Industrial Park will provide development of coal-related industries and associated uses which should be separate from residential and other sensative areas, it will also provide sustainable, efficient and environmentally responsible industrial development.

South Western Times – Academy offers new pathways

The Perdaman South West Cricket Academy will foster young regional cricketers at a dedicated facility, guided by the WACA’s South West Regional Cricket Officer and High Performance Coach Andy Cottam.

The Academy will identify and develop talented cricketers from throughout the South West, including areas such as Bunbury, Harvey-Leschenault-Eaton, Busselton-Margaret River, and Collie.

The prestigious Perdaman South West Cricket Academy, the first in regional WA, will offer junior cricketers a new pathway and better opportunities to reach an elite level and will be open to both male and female cricketers, from Under 14s through to Under 19s, and will also look to support senior cricketers and coaches in the South West.

Perdaman South West Cricket Academy Launch

The Western Australian Cricket Association today announced an exciting new initiative to benefit young, aspiring cricketers in the South West region of WA.

The South West Cricket Academy has been established at the newly-opened Dalyellup College, south of Bunbury. In a massive boost, Perdaman Industries has agreed to become the inaugural partner of the fledgling Academy.
