Canteen grant for equipment for the hockey association

The Avon Hockey Association recently received a grant from Perdaman Industries, owners of the Northam Boulevard, to purchase canteen equipment.

Last Saturday morning at Bert Hawke Oval, Loellan Whiteaker from the canteen said the $1900 grant had been beneficial.

“It has gone towards purchasing a new fridge, chip fryers, coffee machines and slow cookers,” she said.

Through the canteen, there is a long-term goal to fundraise money for a new turf for the hockey association.

Mr Rambal from Perdaman Industries said he and the Northam Boulevard are proud supporters of the local canteen.

“We are delighted to help the Northam Hockey Association to serve hot coffee and food to players and supporters this winter,” he said.

Perdaman South West Cricket Academy

The WACA is pleased to announce a further two-year extension of Perdaman Industries’ sponsorship of the Association, which included an agreement as Principal Sponsor of the Perdaman South West Cricket Academy.

Perdaman came on board as a partner of the WACA in 2008, becoming the Association’s first ever COach Sponsor supporting then warriors Manager & Head Coach Tom Moody.

In 2009, Perdaman became the inaugural partner of the newly-created South West Cricket Academy, based at Dalyellup College, south of Bunbury. That agreement was extended in 2010 for two years and today’s commitment will see Perdaman continue to assist developing cricketers in the South West as part of the WACA’s overall High Performance Program.

Moody, a WA cricket great and now Corporate Adviser with Perdaman Industries, plays an active consultation role in the management of the South West Cricket Academy alongside CSBP South West Regional High Performance Coach Orazio Santalucia.

WACA Chief Executive Officer Christina Matthews said: “Vikas Rambal and Perdaman Industries have been valued partners of cricket in Western Australia since taking on a historic sponsorship of the Warriors Coach in 2008. A year later they extended their involvement with the WACA to become the inaugural sponsor of the Perdaman South West Cricket Academy.

In 2010 their agreement with the WACA was renewed for another two years and I am delighted that Perdaman has agreed to extend their partnership with the WACA and the South West Cricket Academy for two more years.

“The commitment that Vikas Rambal and Perdaman have shown to cricket in Western Australia, from grass roots to the elite level, is outstanding and we are very grateful for that support.”

The Perdaman South West Cricket Academy helps to identify and develop talented cricketers from throughout the region, including areas such as Bunbury, Harvey-Leschenault-Eaton, Busselton-Margaret River, and Collie.

It is aimed at males and females

Mr Rambal realises the importance sport plays in rural communities and is proud to be involved in the Perdaman South West Cricket Academy alongside the WACA. It is a chance to develop not only young cricketers in the South West but also provide opportunities for senior players and coaches in the South West area.

Perdaman stays with Academy

The South West Cricket Academy received a boost this week when Perdaman Industries extended its sponsorship agreement.

The Academy helps to identify and develop talented cricketers from throughout the region, including Bunbury, Harvey, Leschenault, Busselton, Margaret River and Collie.

It is aimed at children aged 14 to 18 and looks to develop their ability on and off the field in areas such as fitness, nutrition, and mental skills.

Players have the opportunity to work with expert coaches throughout the program.

Perdaman is the Academy’s principal partner.

High-Performance squads have been in training since July in Bunbury and Busselton, with the main component of the program to wind down in December ahead of the regional and Statewide carnivals around New Year.

Three of the girls involved in the Perdaman South West Cricket Academy – Alison Overton, Meg Thompson and Hannah Merritt – are preparing for the National Under 15 and Under 18 Championships, where they are aiming to represent Western Australia.

South West Regional High Performance coach Orazio Santalucia said the announcement was an important step forward for cricket.

“The Perdaman South West Cricket Academy has provided massive benefits for all aspiring cricketers in the South West and we are grateful for the continued support of Perdaman Industries.” he said.

The South West has produced high calibre cricketers who have gone on to domestic and international representative teams, and the aim is to build on the success and hopefully unearth players of the future.

“The WACA’s partnership with Perdaman and having access to first class facilities at Dalyellup College will greatly assist with that goal.”

In 2009 Perdaman became the inaugural partner of the newly created South West Cricket Academy, based at Dalyellup College.

That agreement was extended in 2010 for two years and this week’s commitment means Perdaman will continue to assist developing cricketers in the South West.

Warriors Collie clinic attended by 130

Three Western Warriors bowlers joined Collie’s four primary schools for the Perdaman South West Cricket Academy clinic last Friday.

Warriors Matt Dixon, Joel Paris and Ryan Duffield played cricket with about 130 year six children from local schools.

Duffield grew up in Darkan and lived in Collie for several years before moving to Perth. He said he had played all his junior cricket in Collie, and it was good to encourage children to play cricket in the area.

“It’s good to come back and put a bit back where I came from.” Duffield said.

The sessions were not about practicing drills,
but about children having fun playing cricket. “As long as we’re making it fun for them, that’s the important thing.” Duffield said.

This had been the fourth crickeet clinic session in Collie, which had been organised by Perdaman, WACA, and the Collie Cricket Club.

Rambal Warriors

The strong association with the WACA was enhanced in October 2008 with the launch of the ‘Rambal Warriors’, the Western Warriors side that was to take part in the inaugural Champions’ League Twenty20 tournament in India against some of the world’s best twenty20 provincial teams from India, England, Pakistan, and Australia.

While the tragic events that took place in Mumbai during December 2008 quite rightly prompted the cancellation of the tournament, the Rambal Family is looking forward to seeing the Rambal Warriors in action in the future.

Christchurch Grammar School’s new playground

With the passing of the late Mr Perdaman Krishan Rambal, the Rambal family was seeking the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the school where Mr Rambal Senior’s two grandsons are being educated.

In December, 2007, the Rambal family was proud to see the opening of the Christchurch Grammar School’s new Preparatory School playground, a large web-like climbing structure which today helps the boys climb, explore and be creative while keeping them fit and active.

The playground, while now offering hours of fun and enjoyment to the boys at the school also provides a fitting reminder for Mr Rambal Senior’s lifelong love for learning.
